What is Folklore?
High-quality, delicious meals without the restaurant cost or hassle of cooking yourself. Made fresh, delivered to you! All our meals are designed and prepared by a classically trained chef using local vendors and organic ingredients.

How satisfying is it to come home to a seasonally inspired, lovingly prepared and sweetly packaged meal tucked away in your fridge? Let me tell you, very satisfying. Even as—and maybe especially as—a chef, I love the feeling of being cooked for and cared for by others.

A “meal” includes an entrée that comes with its own side. A “side” is an additional meal component or meal in itself such as a soup. We preselect the menu each week though you may change it to suit your preferences prior to delivery.

Confirm your menu items by Sunday at 5pm. If you would like to switch out a menu item, email folklorefoods@gmail.com.
Orders are delivered on Tuesdays.

A $5 delivery fee is applicable to each delivery. New customers will be asked to place a $10 deposit for glass delivery containers payable by cash or check (payable to Folklore Foods) upon first delivery.

Our cuisine is always creative, fresh, nourishing, and beautiful. We craft a unique menu for every event inspired by the season, available local ingredients, and the client’s tastes and preferences.
Below are some example menus from recent parties, taking cues from the winter season.

Menu 1

Dinner Party

 Meat/Cheese/Veg Board

Assortment of local meats, artisan cheeses, roasted vegetables, dips, toasted nuts, dried fruit, fresh bread, and crackers

Salad

Roasted delicata  squash, arugula, crispy seeds, apple chips, Maggie’s Round cheddar cheese , cider vinaigrette

 Entrée

Choice of slow roasted fish, dry aged ribeye steak, or roasted herb chicken--all come with a fennel-citrus sauce (dairy free)

 Sides

Each plate served with smashed root vegetables, heritage grain pilaf, and sautéed braising greens

 Dessert

Chocolate Torte with candied kumquats, toasted hazelnuts, orange sauce

 Beverages

Chemex brewed Six Depot coffee, organic tea selection

Citrus spritzer

bruinois vegetables, heirloom beans, roasted vegetable stock, topped with citrus cream and herbed flatbread

Choice of porter braised brisket, oil poached white fish, or roasted herb-citrus chicken

each topped with horseradish-herb butter

root vegetable-ricotta dumplings, cider braised apple and cabbages, potlikker

From weekly meal deliveries to intimate dinner parties, we specialize in making wholesome, comforting dishes no matter the dietary restriction or preference. We're devoted to making your meals nourishing, pleasing, and fun! Everything we do comes from a place of deep respect for the farmers, the food, and our clients.

Chef Simeon Bittman

Simeon is a creative and passionate chef with experience spanning over a decade. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has spent time in kitchens across the country.

When he's not behind the stove Simeon can be found hanging out at neighborhood farms or reading old cookbooks. 

Natanya Bittman

Natanya manages Folklore’s administrative details and is a willing taste tester. When not behind the computer, Natanya is caring for their energetic preschooler and infant twins! That or hiding in the bathroom reading a library book.
